Or how about this one: Show, don’t tell. Don’t just say you’re a great salesperson/administrative assistant/dog walker â€" give examples, concrete numbers, results. So why are so many of us still creating the same old resumes, using bullet points and bold print and meaningless words like “dynamic” and “results-oriented” to entice hiring managers to request an interview? There has to be a better way â€" and there is. Infographic-style resumes are a growing trend, allowing jobseekers to represent their education, experience, skills and accomplishments graphically so that it is visually pleasing and concise. Instead of the typical text-heavy narrative, an infographic grabs the reader’s attention with color and graphics, while presenting content in easy-to-digest chunks. While infographics are becoming a more acceptable way to present your qualifications for a job, they aren’t right for every situation, and in order to be effective, they need to be done well. Before you create and send your graphic resume, keep some of these points in mind. Then I know I can refer back to these blogs through the search function to find solid content when I need it. Once in awhile, I just peruse the blogs in my reader for new ideas and writing styles.
